Program Structure:

The program has three (3) major components:

  1. Monthly meetings:  the mentors conduct monthly meetings with the young men from September through May. At these meetings, the mentors provide group counseling, self-improvement workshops, news and current event discussions and academic report review/assistance.
  2. Community Event Outings: throughout the year, the young men are escorted to various events that are conveyed as a reward of sorts for their participation and successes.  While the specific events will vary, they are centered on the arts, education and organized sports.
  3. Leadership Training: the SPARKS also have an organizational structure. They elect officers and conduct business using “Roberts Rule of Order”. They also attend various young men forums associated with the national and regional bodies of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
